Clancy & Theys was honored to bring the iconic Security Storage & Safe Deposit Co. in downtown Norfolk, Virginia, back to life. After years of vacancy, our team of design and construction professionals transformed the rundown historic warehouse into the new Roebuck Apartments.
The overall project involved preserving, renovating, and converting the existing four-story concrete warehouse built in 1916 into a modern apartment building with luxury amenities. The Roebuck Apartments are a mix of 57 one and two-bedroom apartments with granite countertops and stainless steel appliances. The building includes a fitness center and a rooftop terrace featuring a cornhole area, a grilling/dining space, and fire pits. The old pier was demolished for a new pier constructed on wood pilings. The new floating dock provides tenants with open access to the water, with kayaks available for their use.
