Canon IRT

Overview

For more than 20 years, Clancy & Theys has worked with Canon at their IRT facility to help meet their corporate goals for recycling millions of printer cartridges.

Phase I: A 103,000 SF facility to recycle plastic toner cartridges. Pre-engineered steel frame with pre-cast concrete exterior panels. Plant features include a 22’ interior clear-height loading dock and significant site work to provide loading dock aprons and parking. The plant is fully air-conditioned. Clancy & Theys worked on a fast-track schedule, which was completed in less than six months.

Phase II: A 75,000 SF addition to the previous building included a structural steel frame with a TPO roof and insulated pre-cast concrete walls. The recycling plant remained in second-shift operation during the new construction.

From the design meetings to the final walk-through, the professional guidance, attention to detail, awareness of and sensitivity to better cost options without marginalization of the product, to simply being a company with great and dedicated people, has made the expansion of the IRT building project a great experience from start to completion. On behalf of the EDA, I would like to thank everyone at Clancy & Theys for being our partner and for the project’s success.
