Clancy & Theys is currently providing construction services for the Delaney MRI upfit, a specialized project that involves the installation of a new MRI machine in an existing medical facility. Despite the challenges posed by a coastal winter storm that brought the first significant snowfall to the Cape Fear region in years—over 4 inches in some areas—our dedicated team ensured the successful delivery and installation of the MRI system. The snowstorm may have slowed progress, but it didn’t stop our crew from staying on schedule and meeting project milestones.
This 765 SF interior upfit includes the construction of a steel-shielded enclosure designed to house the MRI machine, effectively containing radiofrequency waves to protect both patients and medical staff in nearby areas. The project also involved outfitting surrounding spaces, including the MRI control room, patient preparation, and dressing areas, and installing specialized doors and windows to create a fully sealed environment.
Custom finishes and cabinetry are installed to complete the project, ensuring functionality and aesthetic appeal. The Delaney MRI upfit is scheduled to be completed by the end of February 2025.
