Clancy & Theys Construction Company was awarded Eagle Creek Elementary School and Independence Elementary School as the general contractor together in one hard bid package. The schools were constructed concurrently on separate greenfield sites. Both schools are a SchenkelShultz prototype, two-story, 82,000 SF building that provides administrative offices, classrooms, 832 student stations, art and music suites, kitchen, multi-purpose rooms and dining areas. The site work included new bus loops, playground, sports areas and parking.
The building structure includes conventional spread footing foundations, loading-bearing tilt-wall panels, and a structural steel frame. The building envelop consists of the textured coated tilt-wall panels, storefront, aluminum framed windows, curtain wall and a single-ply roof membrane over lightweight insulating concrete.
