Overview
This 13-story oceanfront hotel included 168 units, 24 condominium units, an exterior pool plaza, and a separate 56,000 SF, 168-space parking garage—a cast-in-place post-tension concrete structure. The project also included the demolition of an existing six-story hotel.
These structures were constructed simultaneously at the Virginia Beach oceanfront during the peak vacation season. Therefore, the logistics of coordinating construction activities were a constant and enormous challenge. In addition to coordinating construction activities, there was the issue of working with the City of Virginia Beach to ensure no disruption of the oceanfront traffic surrounding the project.
