The Martin Agency – Shockoe Plaza

Overview

One of the first projects we completed in Richmond, VA, was the headquarters for the renowned Martin Agency in the heart of historic Shockoe Bottom. Construction started at the end of 1995, and we finished the 122,000 SF office just one year later. The building was designed with an open-space floor plan and included formal and informal collaboration spaces, conference rooms, and a three-story atrium. Decades later, the relationships we built during this project with the owner, design team, and city remain strong.

This was the best run and least complained about project of this size that I’ve witnessed during my time as the City’s Public Works Administrator for citywide permit construction activities. This is particularly notable given the high profile and historically sensitive location.
