Located in beautiful Orlando, the Westminster Baldwin Park Phase II Project provides added residential space to the multi-generational Baldwin Park neighborhood. Designed by Fugleberg Koch of Winter Park, this monumental project was a challenging addition to Westminster Communities’ thriving and active senior living community.
The campus expansion included three separate 5-story, post-tension, concrete residential buildings featuring 75 units custom-finished to the individual resident’s specifications. The 181,310 SF residential space was constructed in the center of the existing campus and designed for the unique needs of residents. The new building provides current or future residents access to the campus’s state-of-the-art amenities and expansive views of Downtown Orlando and Lake Baldwin. The buildings feature innovative and sustainable details such as higher-efficiency HVAC systems and life-span construction materials, which last for years.
Jeff Mock, Vice President of Clancy & Theys and a Westminster Communities of Florida Board of Directors member, said construction was challenging for 14 months as the world experienced the unknowns of the COVID-19 Pandemic. However, the team’s proactive approach to project coordination and implementing health and wellness practices and protocols made this project successful. We felt, above all, that maintaining the well-being of the residents and project team during construction was most important. Because of this approach, the project could progress as needed, and our team could fulfill the organization’s mission of serving its residents.
“You blessed the lives of our folks at Clancy & Theys, too, keeping the hundreds and hundreds of workers working on building this new community. This organization truly is blessed,” Jeff Mock said.
