In January 2018, Clancy & Theys, as part of the project team, was recognized again for its outstanding Overture Virginia Beach project at the National Association of Home Builder’s Best of 55+ Housing Awards. Hosted this year in Orlando, Florida, the awards are the industry’s only national awards program honoring excellence in building design, marketing and lifestyles in housing for active adults—a showcase for quality housing, innovation and emerging trends that appeal to the demographic.
An active‐adult community in Virginia Beach, VA, Overture Virginia Beach won gold in the “55+ Market Rate Rental Community” category and also took home the grand prize, “Best 55+ Community of the Year.” Along with Clancy & Theys as builder, developer Greystar, Poole & Poole Architecture and interior designer studioSIX5 partnered on the project.
The new Overture Virginia Beach property capitalizes on the site’s waterfront views and includes approximately 20,000 square feet of high‐end amenities, including pickleball courts, fire pits, outdoor kitchens, a gaming room, an arts and crafts room, a yoga room, a salt water heated pool and whirlpool, a breakfast café and bar, a gourmet demonstration kitchen, a library lounge, and a pet spa.
