Overture Point Chesapeake is underway on the Chesapeake Bay in Virginia Beach and is one of three projects happening at the same time on the same site. The city’s new Lesner bridge construction and Peterson’s Condo project all share the same site and construction entrance creating some interesting logistical challenges and a great deal of coordination between all three project teams.
The site itself is an iconic feature to Virginia Beach and the community. The site used to be home to the old Duck-In restaurant which was a famous waterfront hangout at sunset; people would boat from all around Hampton Roads for the Friday night beach parties.
The site was sold back in 2005 and the restaurant was demolished for a new development right before the market crashed and the project got put on hold. Since then the site sat empty with the abandoned blue gazebo as the iconic feature for the Lynnhaven Inlet. Everyone involved in these three projects knows about the Duck-In and is excited about being a part of revitalizing what was abandoned for the last 8/9 years.
