Passionate. Altruistic. Leader. These are the words consistently used to describe Sara Downing by her peers and colleagues, so it’s no surprise she has been honored as one of Charlotte’s 50 Most Influential Women by The Mecklenburg Times for 2020.
Sara recently joined Clancy & Theys Construction Company as the Senior Manager of Business Development in Clancy & Theys’ Charlotte office but has worked in the Architecture/Engineering/Construction industry in Charlotte for more than 16 years. She is well-known in the region due in large part to the relationships she has built and fostered over the years. She is actively involved in the community and supports numerous organizations, including Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW), Construction Professionals Network (CPN), Urban Land Institute (ULI), and Caring Threads Cancer Ministry.
“Sara brings a great depth of experience and professionalism to the table. She is passionate and community-driven. She truly exemplifies the role of client advocacy and is a wonderful asset to our team,” said Tom Planishek, Vice President and Division Manager of Clancy & Theys’ Charlotte office. “We are honored to have her as part of the Clancy & Theys team and congratulate her on this remarkable achievement.”
The Mecklenburg Times, a newspaper covering the Metro Charlotte, Mecklenburg, Union, and Iredell counties in North Carolina, created the 50 Most Influential Women honor to recognize the achievements of women throughout the region. Honorees are nominated each year by their peers. A panel of local business leaders then selects the award recipients based on their professional accomplishments and community involvement.
