Over the last 22 years, the Clancy & Theys team has completed three phases of building and expanding the Dollar Tree Headquarters campus in Chesapeake, Virginia. Clancy & Theys began work on Phase IV in March 2017 and expects to wrap up construction later this year.
Phase IV of the project includes the addition of a 13-story, 325,000 square foot office tower, as well as a 540,000 square foot parking garage with 1,524 spaces.
The team has worked tirelessly on the transformation of the campus over the past year, partnering with key engineers Speight, Marshall & Francis, Kimley-Horn & Associates and PACE Collaborative, as well as Saunders + Crouse Architects, to design and build the state-of-the art office tower. This week alone, the team installed aluminum panels, stone flooring, a revolving front door, brick pavers and site lighting, in addition to pouring concrete.
This new addition to the campus will bring 700 jobs to Chesapeake, propelling the company toward becoming one of the largest office employers in Hampton Roads. Once it’s fully operational, Dollar Tree’s Chesapeake campus will employ approximately 1,800 people.
“We are honored to have been part of this project from the very beginning and are very excited about the progress we’ve made on this most recent phase,” said Bill Goggins, Vice President & CEO of Clancy & Theys’ Virginia division. “We value the long-standing relationship we’ve built with Dollar Tree and other Virginia clients, and we believe this project will continue to grow and enhance the Hampton Roads business community.”
