April 13, 2018
On April 6th, Clancy & Theys team members gathered at Google Fiber Space in downtown Raleigh to participate in the 2018 AIA Triangle CANstruction challenge. Collaborating with Little Diversified Architectural Consulting, an international architecture and design firm, the team constructed a large structure using only canned food, depicting the earth in a life raft, in response to the competition’s theme “Save the Planet.”
CANstruction is an international nonprofit organization that hosts design and construction competitions where competitors create giant structures made entirely from canned food. Not only does the organization provide thousands of pounds of food for hunger relief, the competition also helps the construction industry give back to its communities.
Clancy & Theys Project Manager Bobby Anweiler mentored the Little Clancy team and helped coordinate their efforts on the day of competition. Many other members of the Clancy & Theys team joined in on the excitement, including Matt Chambers, Tom Clancy, Elizabeth Hartsfield, David Kay, Kyle Snider and Randy Wood.
Committed to building community, Clancy & Theys was happy to participate in the AIA Triangle CANstruction challenge and collaborate on such an impactful initiative.
